The Edmonton Oilers dropped their 11th straight game and are now 0-12-4 against the Western Conference this season following a 3-2 overtime loss to the Winnipeg Jets Wednesday night.

However, coach Dallas Eakins was trying to remain positive.

“It’s frustrating knowing how this last month has gone,” he said, “but I’m more encouraged than anything right now with the way our guys played.”

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Teddy Purcell had the Oilers up 2-1 with just over three minutes remaining.

Dustin Byfuglien tied it 2-2 at 16:54 of the third and Mathieu Perreault scored 17 seconds into overtime giving the Jets the win.

Jacob Trouba had the other goal for the Jets, who have now won three of their last four games.
