Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin will not receive supplemental discipline for his blindside hit on Toronto Maple Leafs forward Leo Komarov during the third period of Saturday’s 6-2 loss.

Komarov left the game following the hit. Ovechkin was not assessed a penalty on the play.

Meanwhile, the Leafs announced post-game that Komarov was going through concussion protocol following the hit.

The 27-year-old has four goals and 16 points through 23 games this season. Komarov has three goals and two assists in his last five games.

Toronto returns to action Tuesday when they play host to the Dallas Stars in the second game of their season-high five-game home stand.
