San Jose Sharks goaltender Troy Grosenick turned aside 45 shots on Sunday to earn a shutout in his NHL debut. That performance led to him getting a second start tonight against Buffalo and his shutout streak ultimately ended at 85:25 minutes.
Zemgus Girgensons found the back of the net in the first period, but his goal was waived off due to goaltender interference. Nicolas Deslauriers bested him early in the second period though and this time it counted:
Brent Burns tied the game midway through the second period, but Brian Gionta netted his first goal of the season about a minute and a half later to reassert the Sabres’ lead.
