The Philadelphia Flyers have announced that they have called up Scott Laughton and sent Blair Jones to the AHL Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
Laughton was selected with the 20th overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He was in the running for a roster spot during training camp, but fell just short of making the team. Since then has six goals and 11 points in 13 AHL contests in 2014-15.
Jones, 28, has been primarily listed as a healthy scratch so far this season. He was placed on Nov. 4, but he wasn’t immediately sent to the minors after going unclaimed.
The Flyers have lost two straight contests and now have a 7-7-2 record in 2014-15. Earlier today it was revealed that Claude Giroux is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.
