Former Rangers’ captain Ryan Callahan scored twice, including the game-winner, leading Tampa Bay to a 5-1 victory in New York Monday night.

Lightning captain Steven Stamkos scored his 12th of the season putting him in a tie with Tyler Seguin and Rick Nash for the league lead.

“If you had to write it up before the game, that’s pretty much how you’d like to write it up,” Lightning coach Jon Cooper said post-game.

“I really enjoyed my first time back,” said Callahan, who was dealt to Tampa Bay along with a pair of draft picks after spending parts of eight seasons with the Rangers.

Nikita Kucherov and Alex Killorn had the others for Tampa Bay, who won for the second time in three nights.

Ben Bishop made 15 saves to improve to 11-2-2 on the season. Henrik Lundqvist dropped to 7-5-3 on the season after stopping 25 shots in the loss.

Martin St. Louis had the lone goal for the New York Rangers, who have gone three straight without a win. St. Louis finished with a minus-4 rating in the loss.
