Scandella shakes off ‘illness’ enough to play for Wild

San Jose Sharks v Minnesota Wild

The Minnesota Wild put Jonas Brodin on IR because of an “illness” that may or may not be infesting their locker room (*cough* mumps *cough*), but it looks like Marco Scandella’s overcome possibly similar issues to play on Sunday.

Justin Falk appears to be the odd man out against the Winnipeg Jets, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune’s Michael Russo.

Scandella’s return obviously isn’t the most exciting development for the Wild - Zach Parise takes the cake pretty clearly there - but Minnesota will likely push the improving defenseman as much as possible. The 24-year-old has been averaging 21:18 per night in 14 games, generating four points so far in 2014-15.

Minnesota hopes to extend its winning streak to three games tonight.
