Former Lightning head coach Guy Boucher has been named bench boss for Canada’s national team at the upcoming Spengler Cup, to be held Dec. 26-31 in Davos, Switzerland.

Boucher is currently the head coach of Swiss team SC Bern, a job he took in January after being fired by the Lightning in March of 2013.

Canada last won the Spengler Cup in 2012, when the team was coached by Doug Shedden and loaded with locked-out NHL stars like John Tavares, Jason Spezza, Tyler Seguin, Patrice Bergeron, and Matt Duchene.

Last year’s tournament was won by Swiss club Genève-Servette.
