His 15th consecutive start counted as his sixth loss of the season, and Cory Schneider held himself accountable following the latest defeat Monday.

The New Jersey Devils fell to the Boston Bruins by a score of 4-2, despite applying the pressure to get back into the game in the third period. The Devils also got another milestone goal from Jaromir Jagr. Two points, on the other hand, eluded them.

The 28-year-old Schneider took some of the blame, after he allowed all four goals 23 shots. He didn’t get much work in the final 20 minutes, as his teammates pressed offensively.

“I thought my teammates played well enough to get points tonight. Unfortunately, I didn’t,” said Schneider, as per the Devils’ Twitter account.

“I can absolutely be better. It’s time to stop talking and just go do it,” he added.

It’s no secret Schneider has struggled in the New Jersey of late. He had been pulled in his previous two outings; his goals-against average sits at 3.00 and his save percentage at .901. And the Devils have now lost four straight, allowing a combined 13 goals in that span, although 12 of those have come in the last three games combined.

The Devils are right back at it Tuesday, as they host the Minnesota Wild. Who starts in goal for New Jersey is unknown at this point.
