The NHL will hold a Wednesday hearing with Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Jack Johnson regarding his hit on Carolina Hurricanes forward Jiri Tlusty. The league didn’t specify if this meeting will be over the phone or in person (one would lean toward telephone considering the quick turnaround, though).

Tlusty, 26, didn’t return to that game, but said he felt fine afterward.
Johnson, 27, hasn’t been suspended during his NHL career. The injury-depleted Blue Jackets obviously hope that Johnson can avoid sitting out games. He currently leads the Blue Jackets in ice time with almost 24 minutes per game.
