After a remarkably (maybe coincidentally?) quiet October, the NHL’s Department of Player Safety has been awfully busy lately. The latest verdict is a four-game suspension for Nashville Predators defenseman Anton Volchenkov’s hit on Calgary Flames forward Michael Ferland.
The league labels it “an illegal hit to the head.”
