New Jersey will be without prized free agent acquisition Mike Cammalleri tonight when it takes on the Penguins in Pittsburgh.

Cammalleri, who leads the club with five goals in eight games, is sidelined with a jaw injury suffered during Friday’s shootout loss to Dallas, per NJ.com.

Despite the injury, Cammalleri played in Saturday’s 3-2 OT win over Ottawa, though he was largely a non-factor in just under 20 minutes of ice time, going scoreless while failing to record a shot on goal, blocked shot or hit.

The 32-year-old winger, who signed a five-year, $25 million deal with the Devils on the opening day of free agency, has been a really solid pickup thus far. Cammalleri had at least one point in New Jersey’s first five games of the season and currently sits second on the team in scoring, behind Adam Henrique (eight points).
