So far, the Tampa Bay Lightning look like they could have some dangerous high-end scoring from the likes of Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Drouin and Ondrej Palat. Considering their rate of injuries, they might just need them to stay hot.

The Lightning lost Brett Connolly (lower body, featured in this post’s main image) and J.T. Brown (upper body) for the rest of the night, the team confirmed.

Brown, 24, was shaken up by a hard hit from Chris Thorburn of the Winnipeg Jets. It’s not immediately clear how Connolly, 22, was injured.

Understatement: it looks like Stamkos’ brave words about fighting through injuries will be tested, at least over the next couple weeks.

Update: It sounds like Tampa Bay will be without Brown and Connolly tomorrow:

Tampa Bay still ended up winning 4-2.
