Philadelphia Flyers forward Blair Jones was given a minor penalty for charging, but he may be getting a call from the league’s disciplinary department after catching Chicago Blackhawks forward Ben Smith with a high hit on Tuesday.
The hit occurred early in the third period. Jones hit Smith instantly as he was turning to make a play in the corner, causing a melee to breakout as play was stopped.
Smith remained in the game. The Blackhawks, in control of this early thanks to three first-period goals, defeated the Flyers by a final score of 4-0.
