After suffering severe facial lacerations from a collision during Thursday’s game against Washington, Devils forward Martin Havlat revealed what it took to put him back together again:

That’s the end result of 55 stitches and a “re-attached” upper-lip, per NJ.com.

Amazingly, Havlat nearly played on Saturday -- just two days after getting busted up -- taking the warmup for New Jersey’s game against San Jose, only to be ruled out prior to puck drop.

On Monday, head coach Peter DeBoer said Havlat “looked good” (relatively speaking) and suggested he’d be back in the lineup on Tuesday against the Rangers.
