On Saturday night a report from TSN’s Farhan Lalji suggested that CSKA Moscow of the KHL would offer Columbus Blue Jackets restricted free agent, Ryan Johansen, a one-year contract worth $5 million.

However, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, no such offer was made.

CSKA Moscow general manager, and former Blue Jacket, Sergei Fedorov, denied the TSN report.

Fedorov says the team had conversations about Johansen, but did not and will not make an offer to the center. Fedorov added he needed to know if there was a commitment to play by Sept. 18.

Johansen’s agent Kurt Overhardt confirmed to ESPN’s Pierre LeBrun that he’s received “several offers” from KHL teams, but his client is focused on getting a deal done with the Jackets.
