Stars owner guilty of breaking environmental laws in Canada

Tom Gaglardi

Dallas Stars owner Tom Gaglardi has been found guilty of breaking Canadian environmental laws protecting fish habitats during the renovation of his home in Kamloops, British Columbia.

You can read the details here at Kamloops This Week. Apparently, Gaglardi spent part of the trial writing potential Stars line combinations in a notebook. Also, one of his former employees testified that Gaglardi told him to throw his computer hard drive “in the lake” when authorities started investigating.

The newspaper reports that the “maximum penalties for harmful alteration of a fish habitat are fines of up to $1 million and/or six months in jail.” However, it’s not clear if Gaglardi is facing anywhere near the maximum penalties.

Hey, did we mention it’s Dallas Stars Day on PHT?
