Try not to be shocked, but a restricted free agent and an NHL team have settled on a contract before the two sides were scheduled to go to arbitration. (I know, this rarely happens. Except for all the time.)
The latest to reach a deal at the last minute is Los Angeles forward Dwight King, who had a hearing scheduled for Friday. As reported this morning by Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman (and since made official by the team), the 25-year-old has agreed to a three-year contract with the Kings -- this after scoring 15 goals, with 15 helpers, in 2013-14.
No numbers have been reported as of yet. We’ll update the post when they become available.
Update:
The numbers...
AAV of King's new contract is 1.95M.
