The New Jersey Devils have added a goalie, inking Scott Clemmensen to a one-year, two-way deal, per NorthJersey.com.

Clemmensen, who spent five of his first six seasons with New Jersey, split last year between Florida and its AHL affiliate in San Antonio. He went 6-7-1 with the Panthers, posting a .896 save percentage and 3.09 GAA while playing out the final of a two-year, $2.4 million deal.

The 36-year-old now heads to New Jersey to battle for the backup gig behind Cory Schneider (safely assuming Martin Brodeur doesn’t return) with the likes of AHL Albany goalies Scott Wedgewood and Keith Kinkaid.

It’s possible the Devils could go out and audition another goalie for the No. 2 gig but, between Clemmensen and Wedgewood and Kinkaid, they do appear to be reasonably set in goal.
