NHL unveils schedule for 2014-15 season

NHL logo

The NHL has released the schedule for the 2014-15 season, which will start with the Toronto Maple Leafs hosting the Montreal Canadiens at 7:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday Oct. 8 and conclude with the Edmonton Oilers playing in Vancouver with a contest starting at 10:00 p.m. ET on Saturday Apr. 11.

The NHL’s regular season finale will go far beyond Vancouver and Edmonton though as every single team is scheduled to play. There will naturally be an emphasis put on division rivalries on Apr. 11, with both Toronto and Montreal as well as Los Angeles and San Jose playing against each other on the first and last days of the campaign.

The NHL also has a full slate of games scheduled for Saturday Oct. 11, which will include the second half of the home-and-away series that’s kicking off the Minnesota Wild and Colorado Avalanche’s seasons. That will extend the fierce battle those squads had during their seven-game first-round series that included four contests that went to overtime.

The NHL schedule can be seen in its entirety here.
