While the Edmonton Oilers have other work to do this summer, they’re getting started by working on their depth.
The Oilers announced they’ve re-signed forward Steve Pinizzotto to a one-year deal. He played in six games with the big club this season after splitting the season between San Antonio and Oklahoma City in the American Hockey League. He was acquired in a four-player trade with the Florida Panthers in mid-January.
In six games with the Oilers, he had two assists and 15 penalty minutes. He’ll be a candidate to center the fourth line with Edmonton next season.
Pinizzotto has spent the bulk of his career in the AHL, mostly with the Hershey Bears. He made his NHL debut last season with the Vancouver Canucks.
