Habs lose Nattinen to Swedish League

JoonasNattinen

Looks like Joonas Nattinen’s tenure in Montreal will consist of exactly one game.

Nattinen, who made his Habs debut earlier this season, has signed with Swedish League outfit MODO, the club announced on Tuesday.

Nattinen, 23, was taken by Montreal in the third round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft and spent most of his time in the SM-liiga before moving to AHL Hamilton. This past season, he made his NHL debut in a January game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, in which he received a whopping 1:45 of ice time.

(Thereby explaining why he might’ve left the Habs organization.)

The Finnish forward was in the final year of his entry-level deal and was headed to restricted free agency in July.
