It’s taken a lot to beat Ryan Miller since he joined the St. Louis Blues, but Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith managed to do just that tonight.

With the Blues’ Ian Cole in the sin bin, Patrick Kane fed the puck to Duncan Keith, who fired a rocket of a one-timer that got by Miller late in the first period. Andrew Shaw deserves some credit too for screening Miller.

It was Keith’s second goal in as many games and his 55th point of the season. That makes this his most productive season from an offensive perspective since his 69-point campaign in 2009-10.

Miller has not lost in regulation in eight starts since joining St. Louis and he has a 1.61 GAA over that span. This is Chicago’s first game against Blues since the trade and the 1-0 lead is still intact midway through the second period.
