Tuukka Rask was busy in the first period of Wednesday’s game between the Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens.
His list of saves included a right pad stop on Max Pacioretty, who was set free on a breakaway before the midway point of the opening period. Rask was forced to make 14 saves in the first period, while the Bruins had just six shots on Montreal goalie Peter Budaj.
The Bruins, thanks to play of Rask in the first period, were able to open the scoring in the second period. Carl Soderberg gave Boston the lead with his 12th goal of the season. He now has 14 points in his last 15 games.
