A tough week for Buffalo Sabres forward Chris Stewart got a little rougher on Thursday, as he appeared to suffer a right leg injury during a collision with Tampa Bay Lightning goalie Anders Lindback.
This comes about six days after being traded from a contender to the St. Louis Blues to Buffalo, although the upside - theoretically - would be a lot of playing time and a go-to scoring role. Unless he’s injured, of course.
It may have been a knee-to-knee hit between Stewart and the towering netminder. Video will be added if it becomes available, but for now, here’s a GIF of the collision via MSG by way of The Score:
Puck Daddy’s Greg Wyshynski captured the moment of impact:
Anders Lindback just messed up Chris Stewart's knee something wicked. pic.twitter.com/4m5JetZbiy

The Buffalo News’ Mike Harrington provided some running commentary:
Stewart is wiped out by Lindback...hobbling off...no weight on right leg....

That looked worse on the replay....Stewart shoulda Lucic'ed him...

The Sabres already lost Zemgus Girgensons to a lower-body injury tonight.
