The Florida Panthers on Thursday recalled defenseman Dylan Olsen from San Antonio in the American Hockey League, the club announced in a statement.

Acquired from the Chicago Blackhawks in a November trade that included forward Kris Versteeg, Olsen has appeared in 21 games for the Panthers this season, scoring three times and adding seven assists.

However, the most pressing issues right now for the Panthers are the injuries to forwards Aleksander Barkov and Tomas Kopecky, who were both injured at the Sochi Olympics in the men’s hockey competition.

Barkov, the 18-year-old rookie from Finland, could be out for the next four to six weeks with a knee injury, which occurred in a preliminary game against Norway.

Kopecky, from Slovakia, missed the remainder of the tournament after taking a hit to the head against Slovenia.

According to the Sun-Sentinel, the Panthers were expected to know the extent of the injuries to both players on Friday.
