Senators owner Eugene Melnyk may not have stopped trying to prove Matt Cooke’s guilt, but the guy who actually had his Achilles tendon sliced, Erik Karlsson, wants to move on.
“It’s almost a year now,” said Karlsson, per the Ottawa Sun. “You can’t think about that stuff anymore. It’s done and it’s happened. It’s always going to be a part of me, but it’s something I rarely think about anymore.”
Karlsson did, however, say he respects Melnyk’s -- well, let’s call it enthusiasm -- for pursuing the matter further.
“He is a very emotional guy and he cares about this team deeply,” said Karlsson. “He’s always had our back. If he’s done something he wants to do and move forward with that’s totally up to him. That’s not something I’m involved in.”
