Video: Sean Couturier fights Kyle Turris

For some reason, it’s often more entertaining to see two star (or at least “finesse”) players drop the gloves against each other. Maybe it’s the novelty of it all, or just that these types of fights don’t seem so staged.

It helps when it’s more than just a slap-fight, too. Philadelphia Flyers center Sean Couturier got into the first fight of his NHL career as he fought Ottawa Senators forward Kyle Turris, who engaged in just his fourth bout. The Hockey Fights crowd gives Couturier the nod, but you be the judge:

Hopefully Couturier, 21, didn’t hurt himself during the round of fisticuffs, as the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Sam Carchidi points out that his ice time was limited following the fight.

That’s the risk you take when you drop the gloves, especially when it’s not something you’re used to.
