Columbus Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen recently said that he thinks Marian Gaborik could be doing more. The 31-year-old forward is in agreement. (Columbus Dispatch)

After a rocky start to the season, Martin Brodeur feels “comfortable.” The 41-year-old goaltender has certainly been solid lately with just two goals in his last three starts, including last night’s 3-0 shutout victory. (The Bergen Record)

After spending two games on a line with Paul Stastny and Gabriel Landeskog, rookie forward Nathan MacKinnon has been put back on the third line. The 18-year-old is excited though, because it also means shifting from right wing back to center. (Denver Post)

The Toronto Maple Leafs are expected to get defenseman Mark Fraser back tonight in a game against his old team, the New Jersey Devils. Fraser hasn’t played since Oct. 2 because of a left knee injury. (NHL.com)

Carolina coach Kirk Muller doesn’t think the team’s playing style should impact their offense and he disagrees with the notion that they’re employing a “defense-first” strategy. The Hurricanes are averaging just 1.88 goals per game. (News & Observer)

When asked to assess how the 10-2-4 Chicago Blackhawks have done so far, coach Joel Quenneville said he’s not entirely pleased, but “we’re fine.” (CSN Chicago)
