Kings forward Kyle Clifford has been fined $2,756.41 for kneeing Oilers forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins on Sunday, the NHL announced today.

That fine is the maximum allowable under the CBA and will go to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.

No penalty was called on the play. Fortunately, it appeared following the game that Nugent-Hopkins had avoided a serious injury.
