Wild’s Coyle (knee) resumed skating Tuesday

coylereturnsgetty

The Minnesota Wild haven’t been too bad at controlling the puck early this season, the problem is that they haven’t been able to put it in other teams’ nets very often. Getting Charlie Coyle back might help a bit, so here’s some good news: he resumed skating - albeit by himself - on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old is dealing with a knee strain suffered early this season. The prognosis was that he’d miss between three weeks and a month, so this development indicates he might be on schedule.

He hasn’t been an explosive player just yet (zero points in two games in 2013-14, 14 in 37 during his rookie season), yet the Wild seem excited about his potential.

The Wild hope to get their offense on track against the Nashville Predators on NBC SN tonight. They’ve lost three games in a row, scoring a single goal in each contest. So, again ... Coyle can’t come back soon enough.
