The Los Angeles Kings are expecting defenseman Willie Mitchell to be ready for the opening of next week’s training camp, according to Helene Elliott of the L.A. Times.
Mitchell missed the entire 2013 season with a knee injury, and he, in turn, was missed by the Kings. (We explored his importance to the team here.)
However, it should be noted that Mitchell and the Kings haven’t always been on the same page when it’s come to this particular injury, so it will be interesting to see if the 36-year-old is indeed ready and willing to play hockey again. And if he is, can he stay healthy?
