The Columbus Blue Jackets added depth on the blue line, signing free agent defenseman Frédéric St-Denis on Sunday.

As per TSN, it is a one-year, two-way deal, and that he was an unrestricted free agent, after his previous contract with the Montreal Canadiens had expired.

St-Denis was never drafted and comes to the Blue Jackets after spending the last five seasons in the Canadiens organization.

He has only 17 games of National Hockey League experience, which came over the course of the 2011-12 season. He had a rather nice showing in his limited time with the Canadiens, scoring once and adding two assists.

He was also a plus-three.

However, the majority of his professional career was spent with the Hamilton Bulldogs in the American Hockey League.
