The Los Angeles Kings entered the second period facing an imposing - but not impenetrable - margin as the Chicago Blackhawks built a 2-0 lead.
As of this writing, Anze Kopitar managed to make it 2-2 in the third period, but the Kings wouldn’t have gotten this far without a pivotal second period. First things first, Dwight King resurrected his Chris Kontos impression to make it 2-1 via a shorthanded tally.
Jonathan Quick experienced some rocky moments in the first period, but he recovered during the intermission and ended up making big saves, including a beauty against Marian Hossa.
