For all the complaints about cliches, post-game press conferences can be entertaining precisely because head coaches and players might not be totally over a win or loss.
New York Rangers head coach John Tortorella kept people guessing at what he would (sometimes barely) say next, but if hockey fans want a new baffling bench boss to follow, Darryl Sutter might be the fit.
Sutter’s presser following the Los Angeles Kings’ 2-1 Game 6 loss to the San Jose on Sunday was just … priceless:
With that amazing display in mind, this seems like a good time to roll out some Getty Images of Sutter making funny faces:
(There are a lot of them, seriously.)
Leon Draisaitl continues hot streak with silky smooth goal (Video)
Minnesota Wild goalie Devan Dubnyk has been the most difficult goalies to score against this season. Leave it to a high-level player like Leon Draisaitl to make it look this, well, “easy.”
Draisaitl scored his 13th goal of 2016-17 by capping this pretty give-and-go play with Benoit Pouliot. You can see the frustration from Dubnyk at the end of the tally, as if he was saying “How was I supposed to stop that?” (though probably with more colorful language).
Draisaitl came into Friday with five goals and three assists in his last five games, so he’s been almost unstoppable lately.
