Rangers Kreider, Stralman suffer injuries in Game 3

Kreider

The New York Rangers might have lost more than a key game on Tuesday.

22-year-old rookie Chris Kreider was struck by Tyler Seguin’s stick early in the third period and fell to the ice. He was eventually able to skate a bit on his own, but he didn’t take another shift after that incident.

You can watch what happened below:

On top of that, Rangers defenseman Anton Stralman was hurt when Boston’s Milan Lucic smashed him into the glass in the second period. Stralman initially tried to stay in the game, but he ended up missing the entire third period.

“He has played so well,” coach John Tortorella said, according to Newsday. “It’s a big blow to us as far as our matches and just our depth within our game.”

The Rangers are down 3-0 in their series against the Boston Bruins and it’s not clear if Stralman or Kreider will be available for Thursday’s contest.
