Sharks’ Havlat (lower body) out for Game 1 vs. Kings

San Jose forward Martin Havlat will miss his fourth straight game with a lower-body injury on Tuesday when the Sharks take on the Kings in their Western Conference semifinal.

Havlat, who was injured during Game 1 of the Vancouver series, has resumed skating with the team but still isn’t ready to return.

It remains something of a mystery as to what Havlat’s injury is -- all he would say is that it didn’t occur when Canucks defenseman Kevin Bieksa jabbed him between the legs:

Havlat, 32, had eight goals and 10 assists in 40 games with the Sharks this year, averaging nearly 16 minutes per game.

When asked if the Czech winger could return during the Kings series, San Jose head coach Todd McLellan said “we hope so.”

According to CSN’s Kevin Kurz, another injured Shark -- defenseman Jason Demers -- is apparently closer to full health, but will have a tough time drawing back into the lineup after Scott Hannan’s effective first round against Vancouver.
