Washington Capitals forwards Alex Ovechkin and Martin Erat crashed into New York Rangers forward Derek Stepan late in the first period.
The results were devastating, with all three players collapsing in near unison and Erat sliding into the net. It looks like Erat got the worst of it, as the Capitals have announced that he has an upper body injury.
Erat and Ovechkin were both penalized for their actions, killing a Washington power play in the process. The Rangers did not score during the two men advantage.
