The end of one playoff marked the start of another for Matt Dumba.

Minnesota’s first-round pick (seventh overall) at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Dumba was recalled to the parent club today after AHL Houston was eliminated from the Calder Cup playoffs over the weekend.

Dumba, 18, made the Wild roster out of training camp this season, but didn’t appear in a game before being dispatched to WHL Red Deer in January.

He proceeded to spend the season in the Western League before joining Houston late in the year. Dumba appeared in all five of the Aeros’ playoff games, going scoreless while registering two shots on goal.

In a related move, the Wild also called up forward Carson McMillan from Houston.

McMillan has appeared in 15 games for the Wild over the last two seasons, though he failed to crack the lineup this year.
