Discuss: Boston silences Toronto crowd, wins Game 3 5-2

Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Boston Bruins -- Game 3

What started off as a gigantic playoff celebration in Toronto turned into a pretty glum affair as the Bruins took the steam out of the Air Canada Centre crowd en route to a 5-2 victory in Game 3.

Boston now takes a 2-1 lead in the series and steals back the momentum the Leafs had after their big win in Game 2. The B’s line of Milan Lucic-David Krejci-Nathan Horton had a monster game. Krejci had a goal and two assists, Horton a goal and an assist and Lucic tallied three helpers of his own.

Jake Gardiner and Phil Kessel had a goal each for Toronto in a losing cause that saw the Bruins outwork them all game. Tuukka Rask was pretty fantastic for Boston stopping a career-high 45 of a Maple Leafs season-high 47 shots.

Some talking points to digest:

--- Toronto is still waiting nine years for a playoff win at home. That came on April 30, 2004 against Philadelphia.

--- Know who wasn’t good for the Leafs? Ryan O’Byrne. Also bad? Tyler Bozak.

--- It wasn’t all pretty for Kessel as he had a brutal turnover on the power play that led to a Daniel Paille shorthanded goal.

--- Rich Peverley stepped up with a goal for Boston and their third line looked great. The Jaromir Jagr effect is really paying off there.

--- Upside for Toronto: James van Riemsdyk looked great again, as did his line with Nikolai Kulemin.

--- Toronto coach Randy Carlyle continues to frustrate Leafs fans with his lineup choices and moves. Do they really need Colton Orr to play in games like this? At least Jake Gardiner is playing, right?
