Buffalo Sabres forward Jochen Hecht has concluded his National Hockey League playing career.
The Sabres, via the team’s official Twitter account, stated that Hecht announced Friday’s 2-1 shootout win over the New York Islanders was his last NHL game.
Jochen Hecht has just announced that this was his last NHL game. He'll be heading back to Germany with his family.

Hecht, 35, began his NHL career with the St. Louis Blues during the 1998-99 season. He joined the Sabres during the 2002-03 season.
He played 833 regular season games in the league, scoring 186 goals and contributing 463 points.
He also represented his home country of Germany in the last four Winter Olympics.
