Andrew Ladd

Jets captain Andrew Ladd has been named the NHL’s first star of the week after scoring two goals and six assists in three games and helping Winnipeg stay in the playoff race.

Ladd is having a career year. The 27-year-old has 46 points in 50 games, tied with Jonathan Toews, Nicklas Backstrom and Ryan Getzlaf for the 10th most points in the NHL.

The second star goes to Rangers forward Brad Richards, who couldn’t be picking a better time to round into form. Richards had four goals and three assists in four games last week.

Third star went to San Jose forward Logan Couture after he notched three goals and three assists in four games.
