Mikael Granlund is on his way back to Houston.
Again.
That was the word out of Minnesota on Tuesday as the Star-Tribune’s Mike Russo reported Granlund had been returned to the AHL for the second time this season.
The first demotion occurred in mid-March when, after a nice start to the year, Granlund was made a healthy scratch in back-to-back games, only to get back in the lineup -- and go minus-3 in a 5-3 loss to Chicago on Mar. 5.
The first demotion was temporary, though.
Minnesota recalled Granlund in early April, and he proceeded to appear in five games before being a healthy scratch last night against Calgary (thanks to the return of veteran forward Matt Cullen).
Over that five-game stretch, the Finnish rookie notched one assist and finished minus-1.
