Minnesota Wild defenseman Ryan Suter had a strong critique of the officiating in Friday’s game between the Wild and the Dallas Stars.
Suter was assessed a cross-checking minor two minutes into the third period. At the same time, his teammate, Mikko Koivu, was also called for hooking, giving the Stars a five-on-three advantage for a full two minutes.
The Stars scored 10 seconds into the prolonged two-man advantage, and went on to defeat the Wild 5-3. Minnesota’s seven-game winning streak ended. The loss means the Wild remain two points back of the Vancouver Canucks in the battle for the Northwest Division.
Suter on x-check to put Stars on 2-min 5-on-3: "3-2 game, & they call that. It’s too the bad the refs don’t have to answer to anyone. (1/2)

More Suter: "I don’t want to get fined, but I feel we’re accountable. If we do something wrong, we have someone looking after us. ... "cond

...Suter: "I feel the refs need to have the same accountability." This is re: his x-check on Jagr on same sequence Koivu hooked Nystrom
