NHL fines Jordan Nolan for cross-checking Henrik Sedin

jordannolangetty

Los Angeles Kings winger Jordan Nolan received a $1,436.94 fine for cross-checking Henrik Sedin during Saturday’s 1-0 Canucks win.

(PHT will add video of the infraction if it becomes available.)

That fine might seem a little odd, but it adheres to the CBA’s rules that a player can be fined a maximum of a) $10K or b) half of his daily salary. (Nolan clearly received Plan B.)

This is the 23-year-old forward’s first offense. He didn’t receive a penalty for the incident and it doesn’t appear that Sedin was injured.
