It could’ve been worse for Bruins forward David Krejci.
According to Boston coach Claude Julien, Krejci didn’t break any bones when he was hit in the leg by a shot from teammate Johnny Boychuk on Sunday.
For now, Krejci is being considered day-to-day. The Bruins will decide later tonight or tomorrow morning if they need to call up a player from AHL Providence for Tuesday’s game in Winnipeg (per CSNNE.com’s Joe Haggerty).
Krejci, 26, is second on the Bruins with 24 points. And after the loss of Chris Kelly to a broken left tibia, Boston would’ve found itself exceedingly thin down the middle if the injury had been more serious.
Update (3:58 p.m. ET):
Per Haggerty, the B’s have called up forward Ryan Spooner.
Spooner, 21, has 45 points in 50 games with Providence this season.
Boston drafted Spooner 45th overall in 2010.
