The St. Louis Blues finally got some good news on the injury front Thursday, activating forward Alex Steen from injured reserve.
Steen, 29, last played in a 2-1 win over Columbus on Feb. 23. He was hurt participating in practice three days later, suffering an undisclosed upper-body injury that kept him out of the last eight games.
Prior to getting hurt, Steen was off to one of the best starts in his career, scoring 4G-12A-16PTS in 18 games while averaging 18:27 TOI per night.
Slowly, the Blues appear to be inching back to full health.
Andy McDonald has resumed skating (he was injured in the same practice as Steen) and should return soon, while concussed rookie Vladimir Tarasenko has also gotten back on the ice, though the club said there’s still no timetable for his return.
