Video: ‘The Hockey Song’ artist Stompin’ Tom Connors passes away

Canadian singer Stompin’ Tom Connors, the man who wrote and performed The Hockey Song, passed away at the age of 77 on Wednesday, a release on his website stated.

The release added that Connors died of natural causes at his house in Ontario.

One of his songs that captured the spirit of hockey fans in Canada and throughout the world was The Hockey Song. (Everyone sing along: "...and the best game you can name is the good old hockey game...”)

Connors performed the song at the 2008 NHL Awards in Toronto. He is survived by his wife Lena, two sons, two daughters and several grandchildren, said the release.
