With the third worst team save percentage (.879) in the NHL, the Florida Panthers have recalled goalie Jacob Markstrom from AHL San Antonio.

Markstrom, 23, is 16-15-2 with a .920 save percentage this season with the Rampage. He made seven appearances, including six starts, in 2011-12 for the Panthers (2-4-1, .923).

Florida (4-7-4) plays Thursday in Philadelphia. It’s not clear yet if Markstrom will get the start against the Flyers (update: he’s expected to start). Or, for that matter, if the team has any plans for Jose Theodore or Scott Clemmensen.

The Panthers had all three goalies on the ice this morning at practice, per the Miami Herald.
