CBA meeting ends quickly, NHL to meet internally

BillDaly

The latest meeting between the NHL and union lasted for roughly an hour.

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman was not present, but deputy commissioner Bill Daly and Bob Batterman were there to represent the league. Following the meeting, Daly wasn’t sure if he’d return, according to Yahoo!'s Nick Cotsonika.

The NHLPA contingent included executive director Donald Fehr and some players and they reportedly weren’t happy that Bettman wasn’t at the talks.

Daly, Gary Bettman, and some NHL owners still in New York City will now meet internally, reports ESPN and TSN’s Pierre LeBrun.

It’s not clear at this time what the next step will be or when the negotiations will resume.

The NHLPA is expected to make a statement tonight.
