That’s not all: Nystrom also inks in Norwegian league

Eric Nystrom

These are busy times for Dallas forward Eric Nystrom.

On Friday, it was announced Nystrom had agreed to join the Stavanger Oilers of the Norwegian league on a lockout deal -- news came shortly after we reported Nystrom agreed to coach Team USA at the 2013 World Maccabiah Games.

The 29-year-old winger is coming off a highly successful 2011-12 campaign with the Stars. He finished fifth on the team in goals, with 16, and notched a career-best 21 points, all while averaging the most ice time of his five-year career (13:45).

The son of former Islanders great Bob Nystrom, Eric is now set to join a Norwegian league -- the GET-ligaen -- that has been steadily adding NHL talent as the lockout drags on.

Buffalo’s Mike Weber, Pittsburgh’s Deryk Engelland and Florida’s Jack Skille have all found work in Norway thus far.

Update: Sounds as though Skille is back in North America.
